- Hi:
-
- Ok, I've had it! The tower for A1200 is again more than 2 months away! I can
- not wait so long, and I can not afford an 4000 theese days. So the only
- solution for me is to get a Zorro 2 tower which DOES exist and a Picasso II
- gfx card. I nw it is not so fast than CV, but I want to know this:
-
- 1. How is it compared to AGA? Is it usable at least in 256 colours (AGA is not
- for my DTP work)! Is it at least as fast as AGA in 16 colours. I could live
- with that.
-
- 2. Can I have 800X600 resolution in 16 mio. or 256 colours at some decent
- refresh rate. The AGA superhighres interlaced is not good. I have it at 84Hz
- nd because it is interlaced it flickers a lot for 8 hours of work on it. Can I
- get 800X600 at 70Hz non interlaced maybe? Yes, I have a nec 3d monitor (15.5-
- 31.8 kHz and vertical from 50-90Hz). I don't know how to calculate if my
- monitor and/ir picasso will be able to support 800X600X256 colours at 70Hz. I
- can not go lower tahn that.
-
- 3. Is Zorro II really so slower than Zorro III? I mean, I will have SCSI-II on
- my turbocard so this will not be a problem, but the other things I want to add
- like some fast parallel and serial etc. Is zorro II still a usable option now
- PCI and Zorro 3 have been here for a while.
-
- 4. Is it better using a picasso RTG system or Cybergraphics? From the tests I
- saw CG is somewhat faster. But do I get it with Picasso?
-
- Thank you for your answers. I can not afford to buy Picasso II and tower and
- find it is the same speed as AGA so It is usable at 8-16 colours and not rock
- steady picture. Is Piccolo better buy than Picasso II.
-
- Thanx for your time taken. It really mans a lot to my decision
-
- Jernej
